2026 Is a Strong Start, Steady Build

Building a Smarter Pro Network

2026 didn’t arrive quietly, and neither did the work. The first stretch of the year has been filled with thoughtful planning, active job sites, and the kind of decisions that set projects up for the long run.

With the recent launch of Build Bar, one on one consultations with building pros across the country (Canada too), we've connected even more deeply with our build community and feeling impact and purpose on a whole new level.

The recent IBS conference in Orlando served up these connections, in a big way, while also connecting and learning from our industry showrooms and manufacturers. There were many hot items and takeaways, but a few moments for 2026 we couldn't miss were:

Honest Materials - real wood that ages, stone that carries its history, and finishes that patina over time.

Hidden Appliances - quietly do their job in the background, allowing the cabinetry, materials, and architecture to take center stage.

Natural Earth Tones - rich browns, warm tans, and soft bronzes; grounding spaces with depth and warmth.

The Oxbow Bend Reveal

We're elated to share this one .. as creamy off white painted cabinetry wraps the room, letting proportion and detail do the heavy lifting. A reeded hood feels architectural rather than decorative, paired with a full-height marble backsplash that reads as one continuous, honest (see above) surface. The dark-stained island grounds the space like a piece of furniture; turned legs, warm wood, while brass brings just enough sparkle to this brand new kitchen.

We are beyond pleased this will adorn the pages of a local magazine this Fall, so social content will be minimal - giving our newsletter readers first access and a direct link here to the full portfolio.

And say hi to Norman, what a good sport he was.

ICYMI: Curious Builder Sauna Camp

Sauna Camp is back for the second year with an elevated experience, and we will BE THERE. It kicks off with a live podcast with inspiring panelists in the health & wellness space, followed by sauna and cold plunge rounds at your own pace. Wrap up the evening with a chef prepared dinner by FUMO Collective in the dining hall. It’s a simple, meaningful day to slow down, connect, and leave feeling a little clearer than when you arrived.

If you're local, or close enough to make the trip - we are gathering at Camp Ihduhapi, Independence, MN on March 20th.

You’ll see our firm on Build Bar, a new platform built for homeowners and industry pros who want real guidance from experienced builders, before the big decisions. We’re proud to be featured alongside other vetted professionals we admire.

WHAT'S ON BOARD THIS SEASON FROM KATIE'S DESK Spring Arrived, and So Did a Whole New Set of Obsessions Every season, we do a reset. We pull inspiration from the projects we're living inside of, the things filling our feeds, the books on our nightstands, and the materials we keep reaching for. And every time, a palette emerges that feels less like a trend and more like a collective exhale. This spring, that exhale looks like Sherwin-Williams Cascade Green built floor-to-ceiling in a mudroom...

You Walk Past it Everyday There's a term for what happens to our brains in familiar spaces. Habituation. It's the same reason you stop hearing the hum of your refrigerator, stop noticing the crack in the hallway plaster, stop registering that the kitchen layout has never actually worked for how your family moves. And for most homeowners, it's the reason the project that needs to happen most is the one that keeps getting pushed. We often hear from you, that you've waited over 20 years to do...

Spring Has a Way of Making It Obvious You walk through your front door and something shifts. Maybe it's the light coming in differently now that the days are longer. Maybe it's that corner of the kitchen you've been mentally redesigning for two years. Maybe it's just - this isn't working anymore. Spring is the season homeowners feel it most. The itch to change. And then, almost immediately, the overwhelm. Where do I even start? It's the question we hear more than any other. And honestly? It's...
